Local conditions & what we see
Car detailing in Upper Kedron is shaped by new building and the bush. Estates still under construction put dust in the air, and it settles on cars. Wiping it off dry scratches paint. We rinse first.
The bushland edge brings gum sap, leaves and wildlife. Possums and birds leave footprints and droppings. Sap hardens on paint in the sun.
Inside, family SUVs collect snacks, sports gear and dog hair. Child seats trap crumbs underneath.
Kedron Brook starts in these hills, and heavy summer storms send water down the streets fast. Cars parked in low spots can take water in through the door seals. If the carpet is still damp two days after a storm, don't leave it. Wet underlay in a closed garage in February is how most of the mould jobs we see begin, and it's far quicker to fix early.
Settling into a new house also tends to bring a few months of trips to the tip and hardware runs. Dirt, mulch and potting mix in the boot are common sights on new-estate cars.
