Worth adding before a sale
Cloudy headlights make a car look older than it is, and buyers notice. Headlight restoration is a small add-on that changes the front of the car in photos. If the paint is swirled or dull, a cut and polish can lift it. Lingering smoke or food smells are best handled with stain and odour removal, because buyers can't un-smell a car.
Who it suits
This package is for anyone handing a car to someone who'll judge it. That covers private sellers, people trading in at a dealer, and drivers returning a leased or novated car at the end of the term. In each case, the car's presentation affects how the next person sees its condition.
- Private sale. Clean cars photograph better, and buyers who turn up see a car that looks looked after. A car detail before selling is one of the simpler things you can do before listing.
- Trade-in. The dealer will inspect the car either way. A clean car is easier to assess and makes a better first impression.
- Lease return detail. Lease and novated returns are usually inspected for wear and cleanliness. A thorough interior and exterior clean means the inspector is looking at the car, not the dirt.
We can't promise a particular sale price or inspection result. What we can do is make sure the car is as clean as it can be on the day.
How a mobile visit works
Book a time that leaves room before your photos or inspection. Ideally that's a day or two out, so you're not rushing. We come to your home or workplace and do everything on site.
- Book online and tell us whether it's a sale, trade-in or lease return.
- Clear out personal items the night before. It saves time and nothing gets lost.
- We detail the interior first, then the engine bay, exterior and jambs.
- Take your photos soon after, while the car is at its cleanest.
We arrive self-sufficient where access allows, and we'll confirm water and power needs when you book. If you live in a unit, let us know where the car will be parked.

A Pre-Sale Detail is from $XX for a small car. It costs more than a Full Detail because of the extra engine bay and jamb work.
Larger cars cost more: the size bands are small car, sedan, SUV, 4WD or ute, and 7-seater or van. Add-ons like headlight restoration are priced separately and can be added at booking. Is a pre sale detail worth it?
For most sellers, yes. A clean car photographs better and looks better cared for at an inspection. We can't promise a higher sale price, but buyers form an opinion of a car in seconds, and dirt, smells and cloudy headlights don't help.
What's included in a pre sale detail?

When should I book a car detail before selling?
Book it a day or two before you take photos or hand the car over. That gives you a clean car for the listing without months of new dirt building up first. If the sale drags on, a Fast Detail later will freshen it up.
Will a detail help with a lease return inspection?
It makes sure the car is clean for the inspection, which is often part of what's checked. It won't repair damage like dents, chips or torn trim. If you're worried about scratches, ask us about a cut and polish.
Do you clean the engine bay safely?
Yes. We protect sensitive electrical parts, use a controlled amount of water and degreaser, then dress the plastics. Our engine bay detailing page explains the method.
