What causes it
Work utes get dirty fast because they go where other cars don't. Building sites, unsealed roads, paddocks and quarries throw mud and dust into every gap. Boots, gloves and tools bring it inside. Brisbane summers then bake it all on, and rain turns dust into a crust on the paint and under the guards.
Common problems on tradie and work vehicles:
- Red dust in vents, door jambs and seat seams after country or acreage work
- Caked mud in the wheel arches, under the tray and on the steps
- Concrete, plaster and paint splatter on panels and glass
- Work boot grime ground into the carpet or rubber floor
- Food wrappers, coffee spills and sweat in the cab
- Dust and debris inside tool trays, canopies and toolboxes
How we fix it on-site
A tradie ute clean covers the cab, the outside and the back of the vehicle, because all three take a beating. We start with the heaviest dirt outside, then clean the cab, and finish with the tray or canopy. The goal is a vehicle that's clean and presentable for clients without disrupting your work day.
Outside
- Pre-soak and rinse to loosen mud and dust before anything touches the paint
- Wheel arches, guards, side steps and bull bar cleaned
- Wheels and tyres degreased
- Hand wash and dry; glass cleaned inside and out
Cab
- Vacuum seats, carpet or rubber flooring and door pockets
- Dust blown out of vents, seat rails and console gaps
- Dash, steering wheel and touch points wiped down
- Fabric seats extracted if they're heavily soiled (see interior car detailing for the full interior service)
Tray, tub or canopy
- Tray and tub cleaned out and washed
- Canopy and toolbox interiors vacuumed and wiped, with your tools left where they are or set aside if you prefer
Please empty the cab of anything valuable before we start. We work around fixed racking and tool storage.
We arrive self-sufficient where access allows; we'll confirm water and power needs when you book.
4WD detailing
The same process works for 4WD detailing after a weekend off-road. Mud packed under the guards and around the suspension adds weight and holds moisture against metal, so it's worth getting off soon after the trip.
Fleets of utes at one site
If you run several utes, we can clean them at your depot or worksite in one visit. Work vehicle cleaning across a fleet keeps your vehicles looking consistent and saves each driver finding time for it. Get in touch to arrange a regular visit, and we'll work around your start and finish times.
What it costs (from)
Work ute detailing is from $XX. The final price depends on the vehicle (single cab, dual cab, 4WD wagon), whether it has a canopy or toolboxes, and how heavy the mud and dust are.
| Vehicle | What changes the price |
|---|---|
| Single or extra cab ute | Smaller cab; tray size matters |
| Dual cab ute or 4WD | Bigger cab, rear seats, more carpet |
| Ute with canopy or service body | Extra time for the canopy or toolbox interiors |
Heavy soiling, such as caked mud or thick red dust through the cab, can attract a condition surcharge. Our pricing page explains the 4WD/ute size tier.
How long it takes
A single ute usually takes two to four hours depending on its condition. Several utes on one site can be cleaned one after another, so a small fleet can be done in a day. We'll give you a timeframe once we know the number and condition of the vehicles.

FAQs
Can you clean my ute at the job site?
Often, yes, as long as there's safe space to work and the site allows it. We'll confirm access, water and power with you when you book. Many tradies prefer we clean the ute at home before or after work so it's ready for the next day.
Do you do truck detailing in Brisbane?
We focus on utes, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles. Smaller trucks may be possible depending on size and access. Call us on 0402 723 464 with the vehicle details and we'll tell you if we can help.
Can you clean the inside of my canopy and toolboxes?
Yes. We vacuum and wipe out canopies, toolboxes and trays. We won't move heavy or fixed equipment, and we'll leave your tools where they are unless you ask us to set them aside.
Will the red dust come out of the vents and seats?
Most of it will. We blow out vents and seams with compressed air before vacuuming, and extract fabric seats where dust has worked into the foam. Very fine dust in the dashboard ducting can keep appearing for a little while afterwards.
Can you service several utes regularly?
Yes. Fleet visits can be set up on a regular schedule at your depot or worksite. Contact us with the number of vehicles and your preferred day.
